My Top 5 Etsy Lighting Vendors

It’s no secret that Etsy is the go-to space for so many hand-crafted items from small businesses, but did you know Etsy is an incredible source for…lighting? I know what you’re thinking, but it’s the honest truth!

When I was furnishing my home, I was searching for the perfect light fixture for my dining room and was coming up empty handed. Every style I was drawn to was wildly out of my budget for light fixtures. What can I say, your girls got expensive taste!

So, thanks to a tip from one of my fabulous Instagram followers, I headed to Etsy. Not only are the lights found on Etsy typically handmade from real people (you know small business owners are my people) they are often a lot less expensive than what you assume they will be or are used to paying from big name brands.

If you want to take it one step further, did you know a handful of the Etsy vendors are willing to customize light fixtures from time to time? I learned this last year and it became a game changer for me!

Take for instance my dining room light. This was a custom light fixture a designer had made in California for one of their clients. I searched high and low for the light, but came up empty handed. So…I ended up reaching out to an Etsy shop and ask them to recreate the light for me for a fraction of what it would have cost me if I would have “stumbled” upon the original. A whopping $350 later, I had a custom chandelier hanging in my dining room that I couldn’t be happier with. (Well if I’m being honest, I wish I would have had him build it 12 inches longer. But who am I kidding….there’s always something, right??)

Anyways, the moral of the story is to do your research. There are some deals to be made on Etsy. You might be missing a diamond in the rough, or the ability to create your own custom fixture!

Happy shopping!
