Favorite Light Fixtures Under $500
How to choose the right Lighting for your home
Light fixtures are by far my favorite accessory to pick out for a home. It’s actually kind of funny because I really dislike picking out wall art, but thoroughly enjoy selecting all other wall items such as: lighting, curtains, and mirrors. I don’t know what to tell you…I’m weird.
Lights of all kinds can make such a big statement for your design preference and can make or break a room. They help mold different architectural elements to furnishings and more. Being aware of your homes layout, room sizes, and flow are all very important to keep in mind when determining what lighting you plan to choose for each room. I always keep in mind what my sightline will be and how many light fixtures I want to see or not see between rooms and hallways.
Not only that, but you want to be sure you are pairing your light fixtures well. If you have an overhead ceiling light and sconces in a room, ensure they are cohesive and can live simultaneously, while evoking their own individuality. Mixing and matching material types, colors, and styles are okay in my book, as long as they pull the room together at the end of it.
Lighting Budgets
The ultimate reason I love lighting is because you can buy amazing light fixtures across any budget! If you put in the time. You will be able to find similar lighting options that are a dupe to a more expensive version. Take for instance my new living room light. I was able to find 6 different retailers that offered the same light across $300-$800. If you put in the time to do a little digging, you will be happily surprised at what you can find.
SHOP MY LIVINGROOM LIGHT:
My only caveat…be sure to double check the dimensions and read the reviews. Although the light fixtures you find might look identical, they may have been slightly tweaked in size, material and make. Many retailers will do this to ensure they aren’t copying an item verbatim from the same vendor. So do your due diligence to read up on a couple of your favorite options to make your final selection.
SHOP PENDANTS:
A pendant light, sometimes called a drop or suspender, is a lone light fixture that hangs from the ceiling usually suspended by a cord, chain, or metal rod. Pendant lights are often used in multiples, hung in a straight line over kitchen countertops and dinette sets, or sometimes in bathrooms.
Shop sconces:
A sconce is a type of light fixture that is fixed to a wall. The light is usually, but not always, directed upwards and outwards, rather than down. The sconce is a very old form of fixture, historically used with candles and oil lamps.
shop flush mounts:
A flush mount light is typically a dome-shaped light fixture that's mounted flush to the ceiling. A semi-flush-mount light is more decorative, and the base of the light extends just below the ceiling. Style-wise, semi-flush-mount lights can mimic pendant lights, except they don't hang as low.

Happy shopping!
